CX Design or customer experience design is the process of designing products, services and processes to improve the customer experience. This involves understanding the requirements and preferences of customers and then using this knowledge to develop solutions that are easy to use, efficient and enjoyable. User research, prototyping, testing, iterative improvement of product and service design are just a few of the many tasks associated with CX design. The purpose of CX design is to create a seamless and positive experience for customers who interact with the company or brand to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

“You’ve got to start with the customer experience and work back toward the technology, not the other way around.”

— Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple & user experience guru

CX design and UX design are closely related fields that focus on creating positive experiences for customers and users, respectively. However, they have some key differences:

CX design focuses on the overall experience of interacting with a company or brand, while UX design focuses on the experience of using a specific product or service.
CX design takes a holistic view of the customer journey, considering all touchpoints and interactions a customer has with a company. UX design, on the other hand, focuses on the design of a specific product or service, and how it can be made as intuitive and enjoyable as possible for the user.
CX design typically involves a wider range of activities, such as customer research, service design, and process design, in addition to product design. UX design is more specifically focused on the design of digital products and interfaces, such as websites and apps.

Overall, CX design and UX design are complementary disciplines that work together to create seamless and enjoyable experiences for customers and users.
